Season two has been an emotional rollercoaster for fans of the series. Belly has never been more perplexed as she alternates between Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Belly had always loved Conrad, but Susannah’s death, as well as communication challenges, destroyed their relationship, despite the fact that neither of them wanted it to. Assuming Conrad no longer loves her, Belly shifted her romantic focus to Jeremiah, who began like her last summer.
Conrad caught Belly and Jeremiah kissing on his car as they waited outside his college campus in the penultimate episode. Conrad is upset and angry, and the three of them have an unpleasant car ride back home. When a storm strikes, they must halt at a motel and spend the night. The hotel only has one room, so the boys agree to sleep on the floor so Belly may have the bed. The two brothers then talk about it.
They promise not to let Belly ruin their love like it did before. Conrad pretends to be over Belly because she has to move on with Jeremiah. Conrad had intended to tell Belly that he still loved her, but after witnessing her kiss Jeremiah, he changed his mind. He wanted them to be happy even if he wasn’t, which is why he was careful not to express his feelings for Belly. She falls for the ruse and begins dating Jeremiah.
While Belly and Jeremiah are in volleyball camp, her brother Steven and best friend Taylor begin dating. Skye and Cameron kiss once more to round up the list of couples. Conrad and Jeremiah’s father purchases the Cousin’s Beach mansion.

The Summer I Turned Pretty has been renewed for a third season, and production will begin once the SAG-AFTRA strike ends. Meanwhile, after dating Jeremiah for two years and nearly marrying him, Belly ends up with Conrad in the third and final novel. Conrad maintains his vow to himself and pretends not to love Belly, but he discovers Jeremiah cheated on her.
He admits his affections, and Belly and Conrad marry. This is what fans may expect from season three if the series stays faithful to the books.
