Kid Cudi has collaborated once more with KAWS for the cover art of his new album, INSANO.The Ohio native resorted to social media on Thursday (August 17) to present the visual pitch for his next album, which is set to be released on September 15. The picture has a variety of colours framed by black zig-zag lines.

Cudder stated that the artwork was created by a New York-based artist and sculptor with whom he had previously collaborated. KAWS has already worked with the 39-year-old rapper and singer on visuals for past projects, but the degree of his contribution on INSANO remains unknown.

KAWS’ influence on Kid Cudi extends beyond music. The “Mr. Rager” hitmaker showed his back tattoo for the first time a few months ago by showing fans a small figurine of himself.

The shirtless figure showed Cudi singing into a microphone, but what really stood out was the enormous tattoo on its back, which he said was real.

The graphic was revealed to be the same Moon Man animation used for Cudi’s Man on the Moon trilogy box set, which was published last year. It was designed by KAWS and used as the cover art for the six-LP set.

The box set includes all tracks from Cudi’s Man on the Moon series — Man on the Moon: The End of Day in 2009, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager in 2010, and Man on the Moon III: The Chosen in 2020 — as well as a large-format companion booklet with rare images.

The collector’s item also includes its own cover art, which blends aspects from the first two Man on the Moon covers. The black-and-white artwork shows a KAWS-themed astronaut sitting on a chair in front of a full moon, replete with X’d out eyes and gloves.
