Netflix is Releasing 14 new movies and shows this week (Aug. 13, 2023)
This week, there are new additions to Netflix, including an HBO series, a new season of a Netflix animated series, and a new animated film.
Ballers Season 1-5: The HBO series “Baller’s” is coming to Netflix on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. The series features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John David Washington, Donovan W. Carter, Troy Garity, Omar Benson Miller, and Rob Corddry.
This series centers around football players, their families, friends, and agents.
My Dad the Bounty Hunter Season 2: “My Dad the Bounty Hunter” is returning for its second season on Thursday, August 17, streaming on Netflix. The animated series kicks off with the protagonists’ return to their normal lives, but villains they thought they had escaped in the first season have captured their father. Now, they must prepare and embark on another space mission to save him.
The series features the voices of LaKeith Stanfield, Priyanka Ferguson, Jacoby Swain, Cary Wahlgren, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Monkey King Animated Film: Coming to Netflix on Friday, August 18, is the animated film “Monkey King.” The film features voices of Stephanie Soo, BD Wong, Hun Lee, Jimmy O. Yang, Bowen Yang, and Jo Koy.
Inspired by an epic Chinese tale, the film follows a monkey and his feisty staff (do I need to say more?) as they battle demons, dragons, and even gods. But perhaps their greatest foe might come from within—the monkey’s own ego! Yet, he finds help from a girl named Lin, who tries to help him become his best self.
Other Releases: During this week, Netflix will also release “Ancient Aliens” Season 5 on Tuesday, August 15, “The Upshaws” Part 4 on Thursday, August 17, and “Masked Girl” on Friday, August 15.
